Event Details

Park Hill has become an iconic housing development, but for many people it was simply ‘home’. Join Dr Isabelle Carter, a lecturer in Twentieth Century British History at the University of Lincoln, to look at life at Park Hill, as told by its residents.

Using archive materials and interviews with past tenants, this talk will explore what it was like to live and work on the flats from their construction in the late 1950s up to their Grade II listing in the late 1990s. By putting residents’ stories at the heart of Park Hill’s history, Dr Isabelle Carter re-examines popular narratives of the flats’ rise and decline.
